a16z Summit Opener

Challenge

Andreessen Horowitz needed an opening film for their American Dynamism Summit in Washington, D.C. that would unite diverse audiences—tech leaders, defense officials, and policymakers—around a shared vision for America's technological future. The challenge: create a narrative that balances sci-fi ambition with real innovation, inspiring action rather than just admiration.

Approach

We partnered with StoryCo to develop a cinematic vision that would showcase actual American hard tech companies while painting an aspirational picture of tomorrow. Rather than create a traditional conference opener, we crafted bespoke worlds that made cutting-edge innovation feel tangible and inevitable. The goal was to shift the conversation from "what if" to "what's next."

Execution

As Lead Editorial and Creative Lead, we directed every aspect from concept to final delivery. We designed custom CGI environments that seamlessly integrated real technologies from portfolio companies with speculative futures. Working with composers Austin Fray, Ryan Taubert, and Sister, we created a sonic landscape that matched the visual ambition—building from intimate innovation moments to sweeping national scale. Each scene was crafted to showcase specific American innovations while contributing to a larger narrative about technological sovereignty and progress.

Results

The film garnered nearly 2 million views and became a defining piece of content for the American Dynamism movement. It resonated across tech, defense, and policy circles, helping establish a16z's leadership position in the national conversation about America's technological future. The film continues to be used as a rallying cry for founders and investors building in critical sectors.
